Wi-Fi Verification Instructions

Network SSIDs and passwords are case sensitive and may occasionally be communicated inaccurately both within an organization and externally. To guarantee that the correct information is programmed into RMT’s RoadRunner and Camera devices before installation.

When this device is powered on near the Wi-Fi signal, it will first light up to confirm a successful connection and then transmit a file to RMT’s server to verify a successful test. When transmitting to the RMT server, the unit Wi-Fi light will blink 3 times then go back to solid after each upload.

Kindly adhere to the steps outlined below to ensure successful connectivity with the RMT hardware.

1. Find a location with reliable Wi-Fi connectivity, preferably where the vehicles are typically parked.

2. Connect the device to a power source with a USB port, like a computer or vehicle.

3. After connecting to a power source, two lights will light up: one red and one green. These lights will stay on for about 20 seconds, after which the green light will turn off while the red light remains on.

4. The green light will light up again once it connects to the Wi-Fi source. It will remain on for about several minutes, after which it will turn off, signaling a successful connection test.

5. If there are several Wi-Fi locations with different SSIDs and passwords, this test must be conducted in each of those areas.

6. If the green light fails to illuminate after initially turning off, there is likely an issue with the provided SSID or password.

After completing tests in all locations, kindly reach out to our support team at support@roadmantech.com to discuss the results, resolve any issues, and obtain a return shipping label for returning the device.
